The Type 2.1 is our high end bookshelf loudspeaker. Built for listeners who demand both beauty and fidelity, it delivers a low-end presence (f3 below 40 Hz) and dynamics that far exceed expectations for its size. A wide, precise stereo image immerses the listener within their favorite music.
Each cabinet is meticulously crafted from rigid Baltic birch, finished with maple veneer and a natural polyurethane topcoat for protection. The horn, carved from solid maple hardwood, now features a broader profile ensuring consistent, room-filling sound with natural balance. Five interchangeable grille options (white, black, red, grey, and brown) allow the speaker to adapt to a broad range of interiors.
The 2.1 represents a evolution of our original Type 2: with a redesigned crossover, expanded headroom, and refined horn geometry, it achieves new levels of clarity, control, and presenceΩwithout sacrificing the simple, timeless design that defines Western Acoustics.
