Description

This wooden sculpture explores the fluid dynamics of organic abstraction. Crafted from wood, the piece features a roughly circular form intricately pierced with numerous free-flowing cut-outs. These open spaces weave through the sculpture, creating a sense of natural erosion, flowing water, or the intricate patterns found in living organisms. The deep, rich finish accentuates the wood’s natural grain and the sculpted contours, enhancing its tactile quality and earthy aesthetic. This piece invites contemplation on the interplay of solid and void, and the inherent beauty of nature’s uncontained forms.

About SOLATERRE Visit Showroom →

My pieces explore the raw materiality and organic processes of nature. Using nature-inspired materials and pigments and textural mediums, I create surfaces reminiscent of geological formations, erosion, and natural transformations. My work delves into themes of time, permanence and impermanence, inviting viewers to engage with the tactile aesthetics and subtle shifts within each piece. Through visible cracks, layered textures and fluid forms I celebrate the beauty of the natural world and its connection to human perception.
