Description

The entrance of Villa Sciarra in Rome has for Federica always represented a door to the imagination.
The view of the greenery that can be seen through the gap between the Gianicolo Walls opens up a series of fantastic visions, where lights, shapes, and colors vary depending on the seasons.
These multiple variations are interpreted and expressed in material form through mixed techniques of embroidery on silk, and sewn-on ceramics.

This work describes a rather silent event of our present but in a constant emergency.
Although not using innovative and cutting-edge technologies, through a glimpse, a wonderful opportunity is shown to reconsider our actual needs, those that now seem to have been taken for granted.

The vase is intended for sculptural purposes.
The use of water to hold flowers/plants is not recommended.

About Federica Paglia Visit Showroom →

Born in 1988 Federica Paglia is an artist and multidisciplinary designer who lives and works between Rome and Milan. After graduating in industrial design, and specializing in systems design, she developed her career by consolidating collaborations with renowned design studios. These allowed her to explore different design identities. She then decided to open her studio-laboratory in Rome where she works passionately on creating  pieces with a strong narrative character, combining different disciplines and materials. Her works focus on the possible connections between art, decoration, and design. Through a process that starts from the observation of everyday life and the reinterpretation of simple forms, she creates objects with sometimes invisible boundaries, where content and container merge simultaneously.
