Embodied Sense is a unique hand-built ceramic sculpture from Stella Arion’s black stoneware series exploring pressure, distortion and the body as a site of structural tension.
The work is not conceived as a functional vessel, but as an autonomous sculptural object. Its upright, compressed form suggests a body holding internal force: part architectural fragment, part bodily structure, part vessel-like memory. The sculpture carries a sense of containment, as though movement has been interrupted and held within the material.
Built by hand using coiling, Embodied Sense preserves traces of pressure, touch and resistance within its form and surface. The piece is made from black stoneware and finished with industrial glazes developed through extensive testing. The surface does not present black as a single flat colour, but as a layered condition of shadow, depth and texture.
As a collectible design object, Embodied Sense can be placed as an independent sculptural piece on a plinth, shelf, console or low architectural surface. It is a unique piece.
