Estúdio Ramiros, founded by Álec Ramiro and Alex Ramiro, father and son, represents the third generation of a family dedicated to working with wood since 1960. The studio’s practice emerges from the meeting of knowledge passed down over decades with a contemporary vision of design, form, and material. Wood plays a central role in its work, not only as a raw material, but as a fundamental element in shaping the identity of each piece. Its natural characteristics, textures, tones, and structural possibilities are explored through manual processes, with particular attention to woodturning, carving, and construction using joinery, dowels, and glue, without screws or metal elements in the structure. This approach preserves family techniques and knowledge while allowing for new interpretations within contemporary design. The studio investigates the relationship between body, material, and space, exploring curves, volumes, proportions, and balance to create furniture and pieces that move between function and sculpture. The handmade gesture and construction are also part of the language of each piece, revealing the material and the process that give form to the creation. Throughout its trajectory, Estúdio Ramiros has developed a practice driven by the search for new possibilities in wood, bringing tradition and experimentation together. Its work preserves the memory of knowledge built across generations while finding new ways to express it through contemporary design. Each project emerges from this dialogue between experience and discovery, seeking to create pieces with presence, identity, and permanence, where material, technique, and contemporary design coexist naturally.
