Re-interpreting the Swiss craft of bronze bell casting.
Now in the hands of the third generation, Fonderie Brügger continues to perpetuate this tradition. Molten bronze is cast around a steel handle imbedded within the sand packed mould.
Whilst staying true to the technique and boundaries of the foundry we merge the subtil curves of the bronze vessel with off-cuts of industrial steel profiles.
These vessels can be laid in different directions, suggesting different typologies of objects such as a recipient, sculptural artefact or abstraction of a bell.
Delivered with a small hammer which combines the bronze from the pouring sprue and Ponpon, traditionally ornamenting the leather strap.
These objects are simply oiled, staying true the traditional method of Fonderie Brügger, and thus will take patina over time.
