Balzer Balzer presents the Bubble-Light, an evocative lighting masterpiece that captures glass in a seemingly rebellious act, as it gracefully billows out of its stainless steel confine. This dance generates a palpable tension, holding viewers in rapt attention.
Drawing inspiration from industrial bunker lights, the steel cage once played the functional role of a guardian, shielding the fragile glass within. Yet, as these lights transitioned from stark industrial environments to the warmth of homes, the cage’s protective essence faded, becoming more of an aesthetic statement.
Recognizing this evolution, Balzer Balzer masterfully employs this once-functional cage in their artistic process, making it central to the metamorphosis of the glass. The result is a showcase of the material’s journey, as it transforms before our eyes.
Handcrafted with dedication in Berlin and available in a spectrum of colors and degrees of translucence, each Bubble-Light boasts its own unique identity, individually numbered and signed as a testament to its singular charm.
