Description

The ‘Recycling’ collection relates to the circular shape, representing reuse and return to the cycle.

Each product from ‘Recycling’ collection, has circles that are highlighted. This allows the concaved circles to emphasize the composition of a food or drink. You can arrange the meal on the dish to bring out its avant-garde qualities. This transforms ceramic dish into a unique, modern form. Products from the ‘Recycling’ collection reflect to the changes in the world around us.

The ‘Recycling’ collection will vary in color depending on the used recycled material. The finished product has colorful speckles. It all depends on what material that was used for recycling – powdering; for example, if you use a product with a red glaze or red clay, the recycled porcelain slip and the finished product will have red speckles.

Project ‘Recycling’ is recycling of tableware ceramics. Damaged or defective ceramic products are transformed into powder. This powder is added to porcelain slip, creating new ceramic recipe for new functional products

The project uses new technology for ceramic recycling
Powdered material that comes from recycled ceramic waste is added to the porcelain slip. It is best to add 40% of powder, but the range is between 30% to 60%.

Building Awareness
The ceramic recycling project builds awareness and educates; it is a major step towards “green ceramics.” The society is learning about the subject of ecology in ceramics; people are getting to know the great need for such solutions. Ceramic recycling does not yet exist in Poland. We can start recycling ceramics instead of throwing them away into mixed waste and then into landfills. A recycled product is a design idea ahead of our time.

Product Durability
Because of using recycled ceramics, products become more durable. The recycled material strengthens porcelain, extending product’s lifespan.

Klaudyna Marciniak, applied arts designer, works mainly in the field of ceramics. She gained her knowledge in Great Britain and Poland. She studied Design and Applied Arts at University of Wolverhampton and also studied as part of the scholarship program at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. Klaudyna focuses on exploring the form, as well as fun and play with the shape, often making unique products that go beyond conventional and usual designs. Some of the products are conceptual art. Thanks to constant curiosity and being faithful to her own creative language, Klaudyna weaves new stories into the objects she makes. Colour is also a big part of designers life, Klaudyna uses color instinctively placing it next to each other and looking for relationship between it. When she arranges colour, she works with strong contrasting colours and sometimes subtle touches.Studio In the Studio Klaudyna designs and produces products from porcelain. Everything is made in her workshop. Created designs are everyday objects that combine aesthetic form and high-quality material. In the Studio the products are created from constant exploration of nature, from movement that is spontaneous and uncoordinated to rhythmic motion. Some products have symbolic value. The designer is interested in the viewer’s engagement, drawing them into the state of reflection, discovering the result. She is also interested in the subject of interpersonal relationships, people’s relationships with the world, and their emotions.——————————-In 2025, for project ‘Remember’, Klaudyna received a Honourable Mention in Śląska Rzecz competition, Zamek Cieszyn; and also made it to the Finals of Dobry Wzór competition, Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw.
