Description

Bombastico is a series of eye-catching extravagant vase with sculptural values. They are big, bulging, colorful vases, that will bring the extraordinary into your everyday life!
Opaque and transparent glass colors are applied in different layers creating shifting color combinations and pattens. The vase is blown in a semi-open mold which allows the hot glass to partly expand freely. This creates a certain randomness in the work process, which means that all vases vary slightly in shape and volume. Bombastico PinkHaze combines red, pink and white tones with splashes of golden amber. The vase has ben partly sandblasted and then oiled for a smooth gentle surface. Bombastico is designed and produced by Markus Emilsson at the Glass Factory in Boda, Småland, Sweden.

Bombastico is made in a small scale production ande each and every vaser are unique. So… if you find one you like don´t hesitate to grab while you can.

My art and design practice has developed out of the passion of glass blowing. Blowing glass is very much a bodily experience and the choreography of glass calls for full presence, both physically and mentally. It´s an exercise in responsiveness, timing and teamwork. An intense togetherness that suits both my personal temperament as well as the artistic situations I want to create.My knowledge and practice with glassblowing began in the historical glass region of Småland, Sweden. It has influenced my work, both in the techniques I use and the aesthetic expressions I deal with. For the functional objects I design I always strive to create something that will bring the extraordinary in to an everyday situation. Something that will call for instant attention and stir a conversation.
