Description

Salvador and Enzo Compañ have designed this special series of volcanic rock sculptures, all brought to life by the hand of skilled craftsman Carlos Flores in San Salvador El Seco, Puebla, Mexico.

Carlos uses simple tools – a hammer, chisel, and grinder – to individually shape each Artefacto. They may look like they’re built from multiple pieces, but each one is carved from a single block of volcanic rock.

While the designs could be made again, the natural variation in the rock’s texture and Carlos’s handcrafting, without the use of any molds, ensures that every sculpture stands out as a unique creation.
