The Ailes Noir is a one-of sculptural vessel meticulously handcrafted in stoneware. Its purpose lies in capturing the subtle and perpetual movement of living beings. As one gazes upon it, the shape transforms with each new perspective, revealing the intricate choreography of shape and imagination.
To enhance its allure, an oxide slip is applied the surface, resulting in a deep black finish. Meanwhile, the interior undergoes vitrification—a refined contrast to the brut exterior.

Lucia Mondadori (b.1981) is a Brazilian ceramic artist based in Paris. Her sculptural work explores the aesthetic interplay between the organic and the symbolic. In a language of rounds and curves, where brut stoneware meets refined glaze work, the forms are voluptuous, sometimes totemic, and always serene.
