EMBER Wide is a handmade sculptural art object and decorative vessel designed for contemporary interiors. Inspired by weathered volcanic stone and naturally eroded rock formations, its broad organic form creates a quiet yet powerful sculptural presence. A candle placed inside transforms the object after dark, casting a warm play of light through its textured openings and bringing the surface to life. Whether displayed with dried branches, used with a candle, or left completely empty, EMBER Wide is designed to stand as an independent sculptural object.
Part of the EMBER collection, Wide is the most grounded form in the series. Its broad proportions and solid silhouette recall ancient stone fragments shaped by time, giving the object a calm, architectural presence. Rather than serving as a traditional lantern or vessel, it is conceived first as a sculptural object whose appearance evolves with changing light.
Each piece is individually handcrafted from a unique paper composite made from recycled paper pulp, organic cement, mineral pigments, and binders. After drying and finishing, the material develops properties closer to wood than stone: lightweight yet durable, slightly flexible, and resistant to cracking. The richly textured surface captures the appearance of weathered volcanic rock while remaining warm and tactile.
Imperfection is not hidden—it is an essential part of the design. Natural cracks, subtle surface variations, and unpredictable textures are intentionally preserved, making every piece genuinely one of a kind.
A heat-resistant glass candle holder and candle are included.
