To elevate its allure, a black oxide slip is carefully brushed onto the textured surface, resulting in a deep black finish that beautifully accentuates its mineral materiality. Lucia Mondadori (b.1981) is a Brazilian ceramic artist based in Paris. Her sculptural work explores the aesthetic interplay between the organic and the symbolic. In a language of rounds and curves, where brut stoneware meets refined glaze work, the forms are voluptuous, sometimes totemic, and always serene.
