    Description

    Haumea Convex is the outgoing counterpart to ELOA’s Haumea Amorph — where Amorph’s characteristic curves fold inward, Convex’s curve outward, moving through space like a weightless asteroid or a warbling bubble. The opaque amber glass gives the form a full, tactile presence rather than the translucent gradient of the Amorph pieces.

    The shape is meant to evoke the curve of the human body, and its mouth-blown glass can be used as a standalone table piece, as a pendant lamp, or assembled together with other Haumea pieces into the STATIX floor lamp. Paired with Haumea Amorph, the two are designed to play off each other — plus and minus, inside and outside.

    Available in five sizes — S, M, L, XL, and XXL — with dimensions varying slightly given the handcrafted, mouth-blown process. Further customisation of the glass colour, as well as the metal and cable colour, is available on request.

To achieve the large size of the glass objects while working without forms requires a high level of refined craftsmanship and skill, which can only be performed by a few master glassblowers in Bohemia. These objects exist as pendant, floor, standing, and wall luminaries as well as bowls and vases.ELOA was founded in 2015 by designer Simone Lüling in Berlin. Studio and showroom are located at Reinbeckhallen in Berlin. Historically characterized as Electric-City by AEG (iconic german company in electrical engineering) and nowadays a well-estab- lished artist’s district, the area stands for the fusion of art and technology.
