Ring Shelf is a free-standing, asymmetric, stone ring that touches on the of modernist sculptor Isamu Noguchi’s incorporation of varicolored stone segments to form larger structures. This object’s variations in form and pattern along with the dynamic composition of aluminum sheets that the ring encompasses open the piece to both conceptual and utilitarian interpretation. An object-display that can work as a space divisor, but which simultaneously hints at being an entrance or a portal even. This hand sculpted object’s radical, maximalist presence is balanced by a subtle simplicity to its design.
This piece can also be produced in wood.
