Tero is born from the exact moment when matter gives way to form. The piece finds its starting point in how wooden pier columns slowly break down, a process driven by the wear caused by the constant friction of tied ropes and the continuous impact of ocean waves.
Through this observation of the marine environment, the project explores the visible mark left by constancy and repetition on wood. The tension of the rope and the repeated strike of the water gradually wear down the surface until its original shape changes, translating that continuous interaction between the material’s strength and the repetition of the water into a physical, tangible object.
