Description

The TOTEM Stool is a handcrafted solid wood stool reduced to a simple architectural form: a circular seat supported by three monolithic legs. Combining primitive simplicity with refined woodworking craftsmanship, its compact proportions give it a strong sculptural presence.

TOTEM is available in solid French oak or walnut, highlighting the natural density, grain, and tactile character of each wood. The three legs are subtly tapered, creating a balanced silhouette that feels grounded while maintaining visual lightness between the supports.

The legs are connected to the circular seat using exposed double through tenon joints reinforced with wooden wedges. These visible structural connections reveal the traditional woodworking technique and transform the joinery into a defining design detail. The wedges create subtle graphic accents across the seat while emphasizing the handcrafted construction.

The circular top contrasts with the open spaces between the three legs, creating an interplay of mass and negative space. This gives the stool a changing sculptural character as light and shadow move across its surfaces.

TOTEM is available with either finely polished edges or visible bandsaw marks. The polished finish creates a refined and precise appearance, while the saw marks preserve a more raw and tactile expression of the woodworking process.

Compact and versatile, TOTEM can be used as a wooden stool, occasional seat, side table, or sculptural accent in residential interiors, bedrooms, living spaces, hospitality environments, and contemporary architectural projects.

A distinctive solid wood stool where traditional joinery, natural materials, and sculptural proportions are reduced to their essential form.
