Yellow-bluegreen collectible vase-object with a freehand hot-glass modeled spider.
Vase as a painting. Inspired by a painter’s way of thinking about a 3D object.
For these, to some, frightening objects, Frantisek Jungvirt deliberately work with their “iconic” minimalistic vase shapes in earthy colors, on which perfectly crafted, modeled figurines of imitations of living creatures stand out perfectly.
The designer deliberately chooses animals who often scare us or are the cause of our phobias or nightmares. Striving for a hyper-realistic depiction of each individual creature (spider, beetle, raven, etc.) allows us to examine them from a real proximity and touch them, partially overcoming our fears.
Each vase is handmade, mouth-blown into a wooden mold, hand-cut, sanded, matted to a velvety finish and hot glass decorated.
Signed, numbered and certified.
