    A five-and-a-half-foot floor lamp grown from spiked, vine-wound resin, finished in a glossy chartreuse that reads halfway between fresh growth and something you’d rather not touch. The bulb sits in a closed glass enclosure at the end of the curving stem; every spike is hand-shaped and attached, then the whole thing is sanded, painted, and clear-coated by hand.
    Specs: 1-of-1. E26 socket, US plug. H 64.8 in (165 cm) × W 32 in (81 cm). Please allow 10–12 weeks for fulfilment.

    Ryan Mercer is a designer and maker based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, working in sculptural furniture and lighting. Pieces are hand-built from resin, foam, and epoxy clay — every leg, shade, and warped detail shaped one at a time in the studio, then hand-painted and finished in high-gloss.The work looks like it spent too long in the sun: sagging, spiked, blobby, deliberately wrong in all the right ways. Some pieces are 1-of-1; others arrive in small editions with intentionally uneven colour runs. Statement furniture for people who've decided the rest of their furniture has been taking itself too seriously.
