The Gg02 Walnut chair is a sculptural, minimalist wooden chair with rustic, organic elements. Its surreal shapes dance in harmony with the grain and the smooth transitions of the four elements that unify into one solid object. The hand of the craftsman and industrial machinery unite to create elegance in this solid piece.
Subsequently, the natural wood has been treated with a thermal galvanization process, wherein small particles of zinc are sprayed onto the wood at high temperatures. This treatment not only shields the wood but also bestows upon it a zinc color, preserving the inherent grain of the wood that was thoughtfully revealed.
This piece is crafted from solid walnut. We examined lichens under a microscope, using their colors as inspiration for the fabrics woven using the jacquard technique.
