Fold Table Light both illuminates from within and through the reflections. As the self-appointed purpose was to create a Brutalist lighting element with a unique form, Fold Table Light is the outcome of experimentation on the subject, which consists of constructing physical models.

Steel Terrace Mirror by J McDonald

As we move across it we see the brass edging begin to defy its own materiality, and we see ourselves fragment, splinter into pieces, and scatter across the room. We no longer see ourselves, only pieces of ourselves dispersed across time and space.

The “rendez-vous” chair stems from a love of both artisanal shoemaking and a love of classic Belgian tubular furniture. Two mirrored steel lines dance around the plywood and leather seat and come together in an upward motion that embraces the leather back.

Dispossessed of its spine, the chair is cut down the middle splitting it into two hemispheres. With only the most essential connection points remaining, they confer both its strength and fragility. This Mid Century Modern chair embodies this relationship and its inherent tension.
