A luminaire that transcends its traditional role as a mere source of light, Sculptural Illumination represents a creative endeavor where the lamp itself transforms into an artistic expression. Crafted as a sculpture, it seamlessly merges rough textures with plastic forms, giving birth to a contemporary design. This is functional art.
Despite its hollow interior and the discreet concealment of the wire leading to the lamp, cleverly molded into the lamp’s wall, the sculptural nature of this piece is further accentuated. The lamp not only illuminates but also serves as a testament to artistic ingenuity, where form and function converge seamlessly.
The material from which the lightIng is made is the result of various experiments. It is a mixture of several components: the largest part is paper pulp. Although paper is often associated with fragility, when mixed with other materials and dried, it acquires the properties of wood, a natural texture, becomes strong, but is slightly elastic, so it does not split or crumble.
This material does not change color over time and is not afraid of moisture, dust can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
All products are handmade and unique, so they may differ slightly from the image in the photo.
