Description

D100 Hand Mirror is a handheld object of both utility and contemplation. With its clean circular form and industrial detailing, it reflects the MLK language; direct, minimal, and materially honest.
Made from polished stainless steel and assembled with visible mechanical fasteners, the mirror balances rawness and refinement. It invites the user to hold, observe, and interact; a daily gesture transformed into a tactile experience.
Both tool and sculpture, D100 challenges the boundary between personal object and design artefact. Each piece is crafted in limited series in Arthur’s French workshop.

About MLK Furniture Visit Showroom →

Arthur Moulucou (1989) is a French designer graduated from Bordeaux Architecture and Landscape School in 2013. In 2017 he joined the Landprocess team of landscape architects in Bangkok (http://www.landprocess.co.th) and immersed himself in Thai popular culture. He has the opportunity to participate in large-scale urban projects based on water management and public spaces (Chulalongkorn University, Centenary Park, Thammasat Green Roof, Lumpini Park, etc.). As part of his work, his taste for detail has led him to develop street furniture. Arthur is inspired by the vibrant nightlife and widespread use of neon lights in the city of Bangkok. After spending seven years immersed in this “neon paradise”, he created his first prototype, the Ne600 Lamp, elevating a common industrial lighting system into a unique decorative object. The lamp features a lighting system encased between metal sheets and acrylic diffusers, resulting in a hybrid design that is both functional and elegant, blending industrial and artisanal elements. The design of this lamp gave rise to other creations as well as the 'sandwich design concept'. The insertion of assembly elements between two sheets of metal, allowing a dismountable design, became MLK Furniture's signature. Back in France, in search of freedom and autonomy, he opened his workshop to produce his own designs. His low-tech approach led him to create simple, functional objects. He remains faithful to his early inspirations; functionalism and brutalism, whose character and honesty stand the test of time.
