Formed from a reclaimed tree trunk, Night Log preserves the natural silhouette of the wood its knots, cracks, and irregular contours that trace the memory of growth. After a long drying process, the trunk is sealed beneath layers of dark lacquer, transforming its surface into something almost mineral, gleaming like petrified wood. The finish captures light and shadow with liquid depth, blurring the line between the organic and the artificial. Each Night Log is designed in direct relation to its original form: the number, size, and placement of its compartments respond to the anatomy of the specific trunk. When necessary, sculptural interventions are introduced to achieve balance or elevation, ensuring each piece becomes a singular composition. Both functional and sculptural, Night Log stands as an organic relic. Matter arrested mid-transformation, where nature and craft converge into material memory.
