SIGNORA LUNA presents “MATERIAL PROJECT – HANDMADE”. Inspiration, research, elaboration and contamination between different languages. Design of regenerative materials, paper and earth confront each other to create a connection with the roots of a territory, made up of ancient values and wise gestures. A collection of items entirely handmade with natural and sustainable materials. The goal is to create a connection of emotional reflection with the audience.
These are relational objects, deeply connected to the use of materials, a sharing that aims to tell the complicity between the historical past of ancient techniques, revived through openness to the contemporary, a dialogue that promotes greater empathy, a mutual understanding that encourages research that is not only aesthetic but also functional, a set of operations that can obtain products with reusable substances-materials.
Papier-mâché objects with recycled materials such as shipping boxes, packaging boxes, which today accompany us in everyday life; In ancient times “waste was not allowed” so why not update it as a concept of processing
This is how the “Material Project – Handmade” vases were born, a model of sustainable objects, original objects in their forms, recycled objects designed not only for its functional aspect but above all as an almost metaphysical conceptual object, associated with and close to the slow production process, thought out and contemplated.
Papier-mâché becomes the means to give birth to a way of conceiving a type of production that binds us to a feeling of emotional reflection, where the concept of slowness and knowledge are the fulcrum for a new design research that we must nurture and explore in order not to lose it.
Reproducible papier-mâché vase, but handmade with several small imperfections that makes the object unique in its kind
