If we had to choose a pet that we can identify with and that represents the culture and richness of Mexico, it would be the Aztec dog Xoloitzcuintli. The Xoloitzcuintli, a cherished breed that has stood as a loyal companion for generations, holds a sacred place in our Mexican ancestral traditions, serving as a lucky amulet to guide souls on their journey to the world beyond.
We identify with the Xoloitzcuintli because its beauty lies in its rarity and unusual character compared to the norm for a dog. Therefore, like many historical artists, we decided to continue celebrating this living archaeological gem by embodying its value in a pair of wooden sculptures that symbolize success and prosperity, Lolo and Lola.
