Description

With the aim of bringing together disciplines that are naturally in dialogue, the Museum of Popular Art (Museo de Arte Popular) organized the Biennial “Arte / sano ÷ artistas 5.0”, where a master craftsman added his techniques and experience to the clever creativity of contemporary aesthetics.

In the hands of the master craftsman Gonzalo Rodríguez, we worked towards a discursive synergy, between mastery in the artisan technique and modern and global aesthetics, that resulted in Intersección, an avant-garde craft.

Hands that weave an avant-garde speech, with continuous lines where techniques, experiences and different visions are intercepted, “Intersección” is a piece that tells its own story: of its creation and its motives; the perfect combination that, like a dance, has rhythm, coherence and balance.

About Joel Escalona Visit Showroom →

Pragmatic, humorous and poetic, are words that best describe Joel’s work. As one of the most prolific designers of his generation, Joel’s work translates to much more than an extensive portfolio; it’s the materialization of his understanding of the culture around him, resulting in projects with a relevant discourse and that are a reflection of himself. Joel finds inspiration in the present. His work is a clear reflection of the events and culture surrounding him: his industrial design projects present a clear solution to current relevant problems, his furniture is designed with contemporary spaces and people in mind, and his personal editions project is an intimate reflection of how his mind works.
