Achenyo Idachaba-Obaro, a materials designer, is the Founder/CEO of MitiMeth, an award-winning Materials and Artisan Studio. She innovates and designs with water hyacinth, agricultural residues and non-timber resources. MitiMeth makes eco-friendly home décor and lifestyle products with water hyacinth, banana fiber, coconut shells and bamboo. MitiMeth has been featured in a MacEwan University School of Business case study published by IVEY Publishing titled “MitiMeth: A Nigerian Social Enterprise goes Global” and in a 2018 UN Environment Programme publication on “Exploring the Potential for Adopting Alternative Materials to reduce Marine Plastic Litter”.
