Description

The Goblet Shaped Hand-Blown Vase is a standout piece from the collection of Aleksandra Zawistowska, a testament to the exquisite craftsmanship of her and her team of skilled artisans. Each vase is meticulously hand-blown, ensuring that every piece is a unique work of art, reflecting the dedication and artistry involved in its creation.

This vase is the product of a cutting-edge and experimental approach to glassblowing. The distinctively rough and organic shape of the vase is achieved through the incorporation of natural materials like stones and ceramics into the process. This technique lends the vase a unique texture and form, setting it apart from conventional glassware.

Under the Szkło brand, this vase exemplifies Aleksandra Zawistowska’s commitment to deconstructive design and individual expression. The creation of each piece is not merely a process but a performance of artistic creation, highlighting the skill and vision of the team. Adhering to the philosophy that glass is ‘perfection in imperfection’, this vase embraces and showcases the natural imperfections and unique characteristics of hand-blown glass.

Due to its handmade nature each piece will differ slightly in shape with approximately the same overall dimensions. The Goblet Shaped Vase is more than a vessel; it’s a piece of sculptural art that adds an element of organic elegance to any setting. It’s an ideal choice for those who appreciate the beauty and unique storytelling of handcrafted glass objects.

About Szkło Studio Visit Showroom →

Szkło /shkwo/ means glass in Polish. Szkło are functional glass sculptures and collectible design objects, hand-blown by Aleksandra Zawistowska with a team of craftsmen. It is a celebration of materials and the glassblowing process, with no two pieces alike. Szkło Studio is a combination of an imaginary approach, years of craftsmanship experience and an admiration for the raw material, stems from challenging the conventional glassblowing process, turning it into a playful experiment instead. As no traditional moulds are used in the process, the sculptures assume spontaneous forms, often challenging the notion of beauty. The glassblowing process becomes as important as the final form itself. The mission of Szkło Studio is to push the boundaries of functionality and material characteristics, turning the simple act of eating and drinking into an experience. It celebrates uniqueness and diversity. It is an invitation to limit our possessions and enjoy the quality of individual objects instead. Aleksandra Zawistowska is an artist and designer. Having studied in Warsaw, Lisbon and Amsterdam, she holds Master degrees in both, Art and Architecture. She established Szklo Studio during her studies at Sandberg Instituut. In 2025 she was listed AD100 of Architectural Digest and Dwell24: The Best Emerging Designers of Dwell Magazine. She is a finalist of the Starak Family Foundation’s “Kunszt” Program, the Brooklyn’s UrbanGlass scholarship-holder, an Artist-in-Residence of Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art and Arctic Circle Expedition in Svalbard.
