In entomology, the ergate is the worker. The one that digs, that carves, that builds the form from which the whole colony emerges. Erosia Ergate honors that gesture.
The same origin as its companion piece. The termite’s trace, the void made structure, the aluminum surface cast to preserve the texture of something consumed from within. Same white cedar veneer base, same mineral contrast, same process. In a smaller, lower scale. Closer to the ground, more intimate, but precise with the same conviction.
The two pieces were conceived together. They share a language, a narrative, and an edition. Together they read as a family. Apart, each one is complete on its own terms.
Produced in a limited edition of 18 numbered and signed pieces. Each bears an engraved stainless steel plaque and a certificate of authenticity narrating the full history of the design. Designed in Mexico City. Produced in collaboration with regional artisans.
