Description

“Harria da Argia,” gives name to this project: the stone is light. The stone is friction, the stone is love. With these pieces, I aim to create emotional connections with handmade objects, promoting interaction with tangible elements. This collection of luminaires is based on visual research on Basque rural sports, which culminates in a synthesis of four shapes. This project focuses on the value of listening, as opposed to a digital world of incessant noise. The importance of friction and resistance in our lives: the touch of skin equated to the texture of one of these pieces; the embrace offered by a warm and welcoming light. Looking into the eyes and listening with the soul.

Born and raised in the Basque Country, Joshua comes from a family of creative professionals. He studied Product Design at Elisava, pursued Industrial Design Engineering at MU Mondragón, and trained as a Technical Draftsman at Easo Politécnico. This multidisciplinary background shapes his approach, balancing emotional expression with technical precision. Rather than adhering to a single artistic movement, he engages in a constant dialogue between art, design, and functionality. As a designer, he strives to explore ways to improve our environment through products, services, and concepts. Through close collaborations with other creatives, artisans, and the industry, he seeks to reclaim and dignify natural materials and traditional processes, integrating modern and industrial production methods to contemporize the vision of art and design with functional goods.
