A Tribe Called Sagrada is the work of Annie Legault, a Canadian textile artist based in Montreal whose studio AMULETTE, founded in 2013, treats fibre as a medium for large-scale, functional art. Her process favours slow, hand-based making over digital tools, and each piece is concept-driven rather than produced to a fixed template.
This series takes its cues from architectural and sacred forms, reimagined as bold sculptural textile light pieces standing 4 to 8 feet tall — an homage to the sacred geometries of buildings like Barcelona’s Sagrada Família, balancing structure against softness. Legault’s practice is also about preservation: many of the techniques behind these pieces are at risk of disappearing, and she works to carry them into contemporary, collectible design rather than let them lapse.
Each piece is made to order and fully customisable, built as a one-of-a-kind creation for collectors seeking exclusive, personalised textile art.
