The Ariadne cushion is a hand-woven cushion made from a luxurious blend of natural undyed British alpaca and wool, waste dyed cashmere, and dyed British lambswool.
This cushion is a testament to my aesthetic heritage and captures a feeling of home. Minimalist and focusing on texture.
The entire Ariadne cushion collection, named after a mythological heroine from Homer’s Odyssey, is inspired by a traditional Greek Cycladic crocheted lace pattern and a pile-making technique.
In every step of the production, the ‘Zero Waste Design’ principle has been followed, aiming to decrease to the minimum yarn waste and unnecessary cuts, carbon footprints, the use of machinery, water and electric energy. The environmental impact is being considered at all the stages of the design, the making process, and also the packaging of this item.
