Drawing inspiration from everyday life and her love of nature, Carolin Zeyher designs furniture and interiors that combine her whimsical, naturalist aesthetic with her penchant for functionality — she uses her work as a vessel to tell unique stories that bring people together.
Zeyher embarked on the journey as a self-employed designer in 2016. Her label, Frau Caze, emerged as a portmanteau of her first and last name. Since 2000, she has been traveling the world searching for new impulses and tapping into her unique sense of ambiance and textures. Her intrinsic concern for people and our planet has materialized en route and remains deeply rooted in her entrepreneurial pursuits. She frequently partners with the family-owned carpentry business Tischlerei Mohr in Austria and has also worked with ethical producers in Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal. Frau Caze thus manifests itself in the design world as a celebration of responsible and sustainable craftsmanship.
Zeyher’s work takes turns evoking the serenity and simplicity reminiscent of the landscapes and architecture of South America and the Alps, while drawing from traditional woodworking culture and contemporary urban life.
