Description

‘Interweavings’ is a set of four handbuilt ceramic wall pieces made by weaving individual strips of stoneware. Each piece uses a different weaving structure, bringing a technique normally associated with soft, flexible materials into ceramic form.

The woven construction creates an immediate contradiction: the pieces resemble textile, yet are solid and cool to the touch. Differences in density, spacing and structure give each piece its own rhythm, from open, irregular networks to more tightly woven surfaces.

The four pieces can be displayed together in different configurations or individually. Each piece measures approximately 20 × 20 × 7 cm. Arranged as shown, the complete composition measures approximately 50 × 50 × 7 cm. Each piece has holes on the reverse for hanging.
