Solid White Stone Tall Floor Vase – Column Series in Cast stone by Donatas Zukauskas
A tall floor vase drawn as a single vertical line with a serpentine waist — slim, upright, quietly commanding. At 78 cm it holds attention without crowding a room. The white composite keeps the soft irregularities of hand-building, sitting somewhere between smooth and rough, like stone slowly weathered.
Worked entirely by hand and built up in fine layers, each vessel takes its own path as it dries — pressure, timing, and the material’s own behaviour all leave a mark. The mix of recycled paper pulp, organic cement, and mineral binder was settled only after long trial and error, the aim being a skin that shrugs off water and knocks while still reading as genuine geological stone. The result: every example finishes a little differently from the last.
Nothing here tries to hide the material’s nature. Cracks, shifting surfaces, and texture you can’t predict aren’t defects — they’re the intent. Imperfection as a way to create beauty.
