Decorative candleholder with slip casted ceramic base, and solid seike wood lathed plynths in Ébano or Gold Leaf finish.
Crafted with precision, these candle holders feature slipcasted ceramic adorned with a matte black glaze, providing both durability and the tactile charm of traditional “barro negro” pottery. Influenced by Quito’s sacral and baroque motifs, they are complemented with handcrafted decorative candles from skilled artisans.
SOULFUL OBJECTS represent a journey through our heritage and traditions. A family of objects that depict the autochthonous materials and artisan methods of Ecuador. The collection comprises an array of decorative and functional objects— bowls, candleholders, decorative pillows, and tapestries— showcasing materials such as hand-carved volcanic stone from the quarries of Chimborazo, Ecuador’s highest and dormant volcano, opulent bronze, stainless steel, and sumptuous velvet.
The designs collectively tell our story of Latin America. Every object is the result of a thoughtful approach to Ecuadorian material culture and iconography. Selecting the ideal artisan technique to produce a sophisticated, modern abstraction. An ideal platform for our artisans to embed their generational knowledge. Leaving their soul’s signature on every seam, every crease, every chisel mark.
ANDEAN studio’s practice is an exploration that highlights Ecuador’s iconography and our Latin American essence. New items will be added to our ongoing collections every year, each bearing our equatorial design stamp and a distinct aesthetic.
