Description

“Dia de Feira ” is a ceramics line by Nina Coimbra, where traditional olaria ceramic pieces are glazed with colorful crystal glazes. The unique pieces dialog amongst each other by the apparent terracotta clay and color play.
“Brasilidade” is pure esthetics in its full meaning: arrest of the world through the five senses. Originating from the greek word “aisthesis” meaning perception and apprehension through the senses“, Brasilidade is the feeling one has when hit by goosebumps when something beautiful reminds you of the “samba“ from the “morro” or the choro” music from the bar. Brasilidade is when the smell of “acarajé” meets The artist Caribé’s stroke and we
hear Caymmi singing “ o maaaaaaar…”
“Dia de Feira” is the meeting of what is the most traditional in Brazilian ceramics with the “technicolor” contemporary crystal glazing

About Nina Coimbra Visit Showroom →

Nina Coimbra is a Brazilian artist, based in Brasília DF. Born in 1984, her formative years were spent living in different countries due to her father being a Brazilian diplomat. The possibility of living in a variety of countries shaped her esthetic perceptions of the world in all of its’ plural shapes and expressions in form. Her studies were centered in visual arts as well as art restoration and conservation, giving her ample possibilities in her explorations on materiality and technique. Nina is interested in the stories objects tell and their secret life, and her work as an artist and designer is focused on the “re-enchantment” of the objects that have lost their “aura” due to consumerism and mass production in contemporary society.
