    This handcrafted ceramic table lamp is part of the Deficiency Series—a sculptural exploration of absence, completion, and inner guidance.

    A missing element within the body of the lamp is resolved through a handle-like form, creating a visual dialogue between what is incomplete and what brings it into balance. Rather than hiding the absence, the design highlights it—transforming a perceived lack into an essential part of the whole.

    By placing this idea within a light source, the piece subtly references the guiding force within us. The illumination is not only functional, but symbolic—suggesting that what feels incomplete can be transformed when connected to the right light.

    At its core, the work conveys a simple yet powerful idea:
    Before we attempt to complete ourselves, we must first find the right source of light.

    This table lamp is fully handcrafted in stoneware using coiling method.

    Esra Misirli Kubilay is a Turkish ceramic artist. She took the design in to the focus of her life and worked as a fabric designer for many years after graduating from textile engineering.Her desire to make the product she designed tell a story, led her to ceramics. Her motivation point is that everyday objects have a language.Nourished by the collective consciousness, she started to make vases using traditional methods. The touchstone of her works are minimalism, aesthetics and uniqueness. In line with these 3 components, she examines human emotions.
