Description

Working together with artist and designer Ella Doran and in sponsorship with G.F. Smith, B.C. Joshua created this bench colourful bridge bench. The bench top is made from Salvaged Iroko Wood, which extends the legacy of Ella’s waste paint from her Paint Drop Project. The stones are made from a variety of different G.F Smith white paper remnants from their factory in Northern England.

Painted Iroko Wood acts as the bridge between two large strengthened paper pulp (paper + gypsum) rocks.

About B.C.Joshua Visit Showroom →

Blake is an American designer based between London and Minnesota. He aims to create objects that are not only owned but also deeply felt by their users—pieces that encourage self-expression and contribute to personal narratives. His work embodies a curious approachability, blending a raw and grounded earth driven palette with a tactile approach. Through a balance of imperfection and sleekness, Blake explores the contrast between raw materials and refined design, translating abstract ideas, into physical proposals. His process is rooted in a research-driven approach, where material, form, and narrative come together in a multi-layered expression. The resulting furniture is approachable, welcoming, and refreshingly authentic, standing as both a response to its surroundings and an invitation to explore the interplay of emotion, tone, and texture.
