A Basny rug is a classic textile item, woven from sheep’s wool. In the Hutsul locality, this type of rug is called lizhnyk and is used in both regular life and custom rituality. Basny’s lizhnyk styles are hand-crafted utilizing time-honored technique, that involves more than ten stages.
Please be aware that because of the artisanal methods used in making the rugs, small twigs and leaves might get caught in the fibers. Hand-dyed and handcrafted
items may also show irregularities in color.
An exploration of line and repetition, drawn from the mirrored reeds of still water. Subtle shifts in rhythm and distortion introduce movement, translating natural irregularity into a composed, woven structure.
