| Biography | Elena Yakimushkina is a ceramic artist based in the Netherlands. Working primarily with handbuilt ceramics, she is drawn to simple, clear forms and the incredible possibilities of clay. Influenced by Japanese aesthetics and an appreciation of simplicity and imperfection, she values the marks left by hand and firing. She has a particular interest in wood firing and other processes where fire, ash and chance play an active role. Each piece is made individually, with subtle variations becoming part of its character. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and Asia. |
