Natalie Dubrovska is a Ukrainian artist and designer based in Barcelona, working across spatial design, objects, and material-led sculpture. With a background in interior architecture and spatial design, she spent years designing environments before gradually shifting her focus toward objects, becoming interested in how individual objects influence human behaviour, atmosphere, and the emotional texture of everyday life.
Glass sits at the core of her practice. Coming from disciplines defined by precision and control, she was drawn to glass for the opposite reason – its unpredictability, fragility, and the need to work with the material rather than against it. Her process moves between structure and improvisation, intuition and restraint, where material behaviour becomes part of the design itself.
Her work often references landscapes, ritual spaces, and objects that exist somewhere between use and symbol. Rooted in personal memory, domestic rituals, and inherited traditions, her pieces function both as usable objects and as narrative carriers, positioned between design object and sculpture.
“I remember the cabinet with the ‘forbidden’ glass from my childhood – objects that were only taken out for special occasions. They felt distant, almost magical. Today I try to reimagine that cabinet of memories, traditions, and landscapes. My work is about memory, rituals, fragility, and the objects we keep because they mean something to us.”
