This vessel explores the material character of mass-tinted glass, focusing on its plasticity and transformation under heat. In its molten state, the glass softens and yields to gravity and time, forming fluid silhouettes. Mass-tinted glass creates a depth and shifting luminosity that varies with thickness and curvature. Each piece is a study in form and chromatic density—tactile, deliberate, and soft. It becomes a meditation on material behavior, where color, shape, and texture converge in objects that are both sculptural and functional.
The bowl is handcrafted using the mass-tinted glass, which has an exceptional depth that mesmerizes any room. It is shaped with traditional glassblowing techniques that employ wooden forms and tools, showcasing a time-honored craftsmanship. Each object is hand-signed. Through OOG objects, the studio aims to inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation for the extraordinary found in the objects surrounding us every day.
The Matcha Bowl is a limited series of 10 pieces commissioned by ADORNO X SILENCE PLEASE for the CHAWAN exhibition during NYCxDESIGN 2025.
Please be aware that each handmade product is unique, so slight variations in shape, color, and the occasional appearance of air bubbles may occur.
