Adorno is pleased to invite you to an exhibition at Lokstallarna featuring ”Proximity”, the new Southern Sweden Design Days collection of selected objects by southern Swedish designers. Through an open call, ten southern Swedish designers have been selected to participate in a new collection curated by Adorno. Through participating the exhibitors also get the opportunity to sell their objects via Adorno’s e-commerce platform.

“PROXIMITY” created in collaboration with Southern Sweden Design Days showcases a selection of new work from ten designers and studios. Organized by Form/Design Center, the annual event held in Malmö, Sweden continues in its second edition, highlighting sustainability, collaboration, development, and innovation in design. This year’s theme, as described by the event organizers, “[reflects] on the notion of being close – the connection between people, cities, countries, species, professions, etc”.

As a whole, the collection contemplates the notion of proximity, interconnection, and belonging. Whether through contemporary references to traditional crafts techniques; the use of locally sourced materials such as wool, lichen, steel, and wood; or playful visualizations of the notion itself, the selected pieces illustrate the importance of closeness, interconnection, and kinship in uncertain times.

The physical exhibition of “PROXIMITY” will take place at Lokstallarna, Södra Bulltoftavägen 51, 212 22 Malmö from 19 – 22 May 2022.
