Description

This table design by Woohyun Han draws inspiration from Eastern aesthetics, influenced by the floor-seating culture and traditional Korean hanok architecture. The tabletop is composed of two tiers, providing storage space, and is constructed to be easily assembled and disassembled.

The table’s concept is closely tied to the idea of “YunSeul,” a Korean word that describes ripples shining in the light. YunSeul moves quietly, repeating in its place, and reveals its calm beauty only when touched by light. Similarly, Woohyun Han approaches their work with a steady, silent dedication, reflecting an attitude of faithfully fulfilling one’s role.

Texture is expressed through Texture Carving—a meticulous process of cutting wood by hand, stroke by stroke, which requires time, concentration, and sincerity. Each touch creates natural curves and forms that hold intrinsic value. YunSeul and the act of carving mirror each other, embodying a quiet rhythm of repetition. Through small, repeated expressions and the silent vibration of YunSeul, this work reflects the value in performing small tasks, one by one. The studio hopes it inspires a sense of beauty in the repeated, often unnoticed, moments of daily life.

Each table is handcrafted, giving it a unique texture that varies slightly from piece to piece.

The table has a durable coating that withstands water—simply wipe with a dry cloth if needed.
