Description

There is a misguided division between the human world that is alive and bustling and the “dead” background material that supports us, lying in wait to be animated by our use. We recognize that material has a potent effect on our energy. Vital Friction is a material intersection of an industrial steel off-cut and mouth-blown glass which awakens our innate sense of material intelligence.

About Studio Lisa Sacco Visit Showroom →

Lisa Sacco is a multi-disciplinary designer specializing in sensory furniture and objects.  Experimentation and research underpin her design practice which aims to foster material engagement and deepen our sensitivity to the world around us.  Simple yet complete gestures serve as both encounters and confrontations within our system of design and use of everyday objects. Calculated intervention allows her to bend meaning, usurp convention, and allow objects to speak for themselves. Lisa holds an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master's in Photography from Syracuse University.  Her work has been showcased in numerous periodicals and exhibitions including Architectural Digest, Alcova Miami, ICFF/Wanted Design, RISDxCappellini, Re-Wilded Domesticity, ISFD Innovation & Design, and DESIGNxRI.  Lisa has been selected as an Artist-in-Residence and Fellowship Recipient at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in 2024.
