A small purple armchair designed as an expression of emotion and joy. Conceived around the idea that happiness can be a simple yet powerful gesture, the piece reflects the importance of a smile—sometimes more meaningful than anything else.
The question “Is that a chair?” becomes an open invitation to dialogue, challenging the boundaries between object, perception, and imagination. Rather than providing a fixed answer, the work encourages curiosity and reflection on what design can be.
Presented as part of an installation scattered throughout Lake Como Design Week, the armchairs create moments of discovery and interaction within the landscape. Each encounter invites visitors to pause, connect, and reconsider their relationship with everyday objects.
Through this playful intervention, the project reimagines the chair not as a static object, but as a fluid idea—capable of shaping emotions, perceptions, and behaviors in space.
