Description

Wall mirror made of solid seike wood body with a natural oil finish, antique mirror glass, and lathed bronze or stainless steel hardware. Customizations available upon request.

The SITIERA_03 wall mirror is an abstraction of the Virgen de Quito crown by Bernardo de Legarda, a Quito Baroque School sculptor during the 18th century.

SITIERA is ANDEAN’s second high-end residential furniture collection. Focused on seating and decorative mirrors, it is an exploration of the baroque and sacral archetypes that capture the essence of Quito’s historic center art and architecture.

The designs explore the relationship between contemporary organic forms with baroque-inspired details. Depicting iconography and symbols present in the sculptures and altarpieces found in Quito’s colonial-era churches, monasteries, and convents. The collection is a tribute to the significant role the Baroque School of Quito played in shaping our material heritage and culture.

ANDEAN studio’s practice is an exploration that highlights Ecuador’s iconography and our Latin American essence. New items will be added to our ongoing collections every year, each bearing our equatorial design stamp and a distinct aesthetic.

About ANDEAN Visit Showroom →

ANDEAN is a design studio focused on collectible design, and high-end residential seating and decor collections. The studio combines Ecuadorian artisanship and iconography with modern manufacturing processes. The studio was founded by designer Alejandro Moyano who, after attending Pratt Institute (New York), returned to his native country to join the essence and DNA of his origins with the trend of contemporaneity. The studio's objective is to develop the notion of equatorial design to enhance the Andean material heritage. “Drink from the origin”, techniques, traditions, and materials of the region, to “transpire contemporaneity” through the forms and functions of our daily life. A past that projects us to the collective future of Andean talent and that enchants the world with our Latin American essence. ANDEAN’s practice is an exploration that highlights Ecuador’s iconography and material culture. New items will be added to our ongoing collections every year, each bearing our equatorial design stamp and a distinct aesthetic. ANDEAN is a platform, not only for designers, manufacturers, or artisans but for all those who are committed to enhancing the future of equatorial design.
