The design of the ‘RISE’ Lamps reflects optimism and hope that can grow from waste stream material. The series is inspired by memories connected to buildings and cities. Jule Cats collects the rubble of demolished houses in her hometown Rotterdam, and creates objects that show the beauty and emotional value of a waste product. The combination of contrasting materials which is used in the handmade limited series, evokes wonder and curiosity and literally offers food for thought.
